Road closures on Kaua‘i December 6-10

LIHU‘E — All road work performed by state Department of Transportation or County of Kaua‘i contractors is weather-permitting. Following is the planned road work this week.

Anahola

• The intersection of Ioane Road near Kuhio Highway will be closed on Monday, Dec. 6, for paving work, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. A temporary detour route to access Ioane Road will be available through Kalalea Road and Konona Road. • A right-shoulder closure and lane realignments of Kuhio Highway in the southbound direction between mile markers 11.8 and 13, Makanani Street and Kuhio Highway, is taking place 24 hours a day from today through Friday, Dec. 10, for shoulder work;

• A right-lane closure of Kuhio Highway in the northbound direction between mile markers 13.7 and 14.1, Kiko‘o Loop and Aliomanu Road, is Monday through Friday, Dec. 6 to 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for utility equipment installation;

Wailua

• A right-shoulder closure and narrowed lanes of Kuhio Highway in the southbound direction between mile markers 5.7 and 6.6, in the vicinity of Leho Drive and the Kapa‘a bypass, is 24 hours a day from today through Friday, Dec. 10, for road and shoulder work;

Kapa‘a

• A portion of Mailihuna Road will be closed from Monday to Friday, Dec. 6 to 10, between 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., for sidewalk construction and roadway excavation. Kilauea

• A right-lane closure of Kuhio Highway in both directions between mile markers 18.5 and 23, Kapuna Road and Malulani Street, takes place from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, Dec. 6 to 10, for landscaping maintenance;

Princeville

• A single-lane closure of Kuhio Highway in the westbound direction between mile markers 1.7 and 1.8, in the vicinity of the Hanalei National Wildlife Refuge, takes place 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, Dec. 6 to 10, for drilling work.
