“The Kaua‘i Marathon and Half Marathon is thrilled to present the ‘ohana of Malama Kaua‘i a check for $5,000 from the Stride for Kaua‘i 100-Mile Challenge,” said race founder Jeff Sachinni.
“Participants in the stride were so generous to the community during this stressful time, and we cannot thank them enough. These funds will support Malama Kaua‘i’s food-access programs.”
“Physical fitness and healthy, local food access go hand-in-hand in creating strong, healthy communities,” said Megan Fox, executive director of Malama Kaua‘i. “Malama Kaua‘i is grateful for the generosity of the $5,000 donation, especially amidst the challenge of moving their events online this year.”
