To all you anti-vaxxers: This is not about you
Pediatric infections on the mainland are surging. There is no vaccine available for children under 12. They, unlike you, don’t have a choice. Try explaining to a grieving parent why your personal freedom was so much more important than their child’s life. You will wish the COVID had taken you first.
Signed angry, frightened mom.

More bone-marrow-registry drives possible
COVID-19 is the headline every day, but we cannot forget that there are people with challenges such as blood cancers who are desperately seeking a marrow or blood stem-cell transplant.
That’s why my Eagle Scout project involves partnering with Be the Match – Hawai‘i and organizing marrow-donor-registry drives to add more people to the registry so more lives can be saved. Thank you to Gov. Ige and other leaders and volunteers on each island for all their help and support.
Although my seven drives across the state are done, people 18 to 44 may still register online and do a simple cheek swab. To register and receive a swab kit in the mail, visit My.BetheMatch.org/imuascouts.
If any organizations (high schools, colleges, etc.) would like me to coordinate a drive at their location, I’d be happy to do so. Contact me at email@example.com.
