LIHU‘E — The state Department of Health Kaua‘i District Health Office reported one new case of COVID-19 on Tuesday.
The case is an adult vistor whose source of infection is considered mainland travel. All active cases are in isolation, and close contacts are being identified, offered testing and directed to quarantine. Investigations are ongoing.
Tuesday’s case brings the number of active cases to one, with 363 cumulative cases. Kaua‘i’s cumulative case count includes 321 confirmed locally, three probable, and 39 positive cases diagnosed elsewhere, as they received their pre-travel test results after arriving on island.
Free testing at the Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall in Lihu‘e is available weekdays from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis. Testing is also available through primary-care physicians, hospitals and urgent-care clinics. Contact those providers directly for more information.
If you have symptoms or are feeling sick, you should isolate yourself immediately, stay away from household members, and not go out — including to work or school — unless you are seeking testing or getting health care. Those who have been vaccinated should still be tested if they believe they may have been exposed, or if they feel sick.
Residents aged 18 and older are eligible for any vaccine available at pharmacies, hospitals and clinics. The Pfizer vaccine has been authorized for use in those 12 and older, and appointments are available at hospitals and pharmacies for this age group.
Vaccination is free and widely available on the island, including on weekends and evenings. For details, visit kauai.gov/vaccine. Those who plan to travel can protect themselves and their families by being fully vaccinated before traveling.
the horror!
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
when will we finally stop reporting such a meaningless point?
how many have even been hospitalized?
It’s pretty obvious that the total number hospitalized is ZERO, otherwise it would be shouted to the rooftops “OUR FIRST HOSPITALIZED CASE ON KAUAI!!!”. I wonder if the poor tourist had been vaccinated? As more and more tourists arrive, there will be a percentage of the vaccinated that will have active COVID. Since now they are not subject to testing, they WILL pose a threat to us. The nRNA jabs do not prevent the disease, merely lessen the chance of infection and detection. Additionally, the latest studies from Japan conclude that the spike protein created by the “vaccine” does not stay stay only in the arm, as previously thought, but, in fact, spreads throughout the body with the potential to damage multiple organs. It’s just an “experiment” folks and you are the animal test group.
Who is this dastardly person forcing you to read such drivel!
There’s a warning out for the deep nasal test swabs. Make sure that the package that contains the swab is not made in China and lists E/O as one of its ingredients. E/O stands for ethylene oxide and according to our government mandated MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) this substance is a strong carcinogen, causing damage to women’s reproductive systems among many other problems. Why our government allows the use of this chemical is reprehensible and totally irresponsible.
EO is used to sterilize medical devices. It doesn’t remain in the product after sterilization.
You know nothing.
Please just stop. spreading disinformation during a pandemic heightens fears. It’s not helpful to anyone. The E/O cancer claim has been debunked time and again https://www.reuters.com/article/factcheck-eo-swabs/fact-check-nasal-swabs-sterilised-with-ethylene-oxide-are-safe-to-use-the-sterilisation-process-is-tightly-regulated-by-international-standards-idUSL1N2LU1H0
Travelers from the mainland ARE subject to testing.
Why take the time to right if you’re simply trying to anger or confuse people?
