LIHU‘E — Those who are needing a COVID-19 vaccine can get a free $10 gift card if they hurry.
Ho‘ola Lahui Community Health Center will be partnering with Rob’s Goodtime Grill in the Rice Shopping Center to host a pop-up vaccine clinic, Saturday for those 18 years and older. Registrations are being taken by calling Ho‘ola Lahui hotline at 808-938-0938 at least before Thursday, or two days ahead of the event.
Both the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines will be available with the preference being taken during the call-in registration.
“The clinic is from 2 to 4 p.m.,” said Kellie Montemayor of Rob’s Goodtime Grill. “And, the first 50 people vaccinated will get gift cards for $10 each.”
“Additionally, Ho‘ola Lahui will be the beneficiary of the Rob’s Give Back program for May,” Montemayor said, finalizing the transfer of funds to the Zonta Club of Kaua‘i Foundation, Monday. “The Zonta Club is the recipient of the Rob’s Give Back program for the month of April.”
Starting in January, Montemayor said Rob’s Give Back has made presentations to Ho‘olana Pua representing the month of January, Hearts 4 Kaua‘i representing the month of February, and to the American Red Cross, Kaua‘i representing the month of March.
“When I asked if Rob’s would donate the month of April towards our scholarship fundraiser, Rob agreed to donate a portion of the drink specials and pupu as part of the Rob’s Give Back program,” said Edie Ignacio Neumiller, the Zonta Club of Kaua‘i public relations co-chair. “Some of the Zonta Club of Kaua‘i were supporting Rob’s every Tuesday in April.”
The Zonta Club of Kaua‘i’s signature scholarship fundraiser was called off due to concerns from the pandemic. The organization adapted and created a virtual silent auction featuring items donated by local businesses and hotel stays.
“Getting vaccinated now is the best way to protect our keiki and our loved ones from community spread of COVID-19,” said Damien Kapono Chong-Hanssen, MD, Medical Director of Ho‘ola Lahui Community Health Center in a release announcing the appearance of pop-up vaccine clinics.
In addition to the clinic at Rob’s, there will be a clinic set up, Sunday at the Hanalei Elementary School from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
June 5, the Anahola Clubhouse will be administering vaccines from 1 to 2:30 p.m. The Kekaha Neighborhood Center will also be administering vaccines from 8 to 11 a.m. Troy’s Place in Lihu‘e will also host a drive-up clinic, June 5 for adults 21 years and older. Bowling? There is a bowling alley at this location. Do they require minimum capacity inside this bowling alley? It is a big thing for the locals and other attenders. I’m not much of a bowling fan. Even though this bowling place has picked up a lot of guest over the years.
