KOLOA — The county Department of Public Works and Goodfellow Bros. LLC announced that multiple sections of Koloa Road are scheduled for lane closures from Monday to Friday, April 5 to 9, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Several portions of Koloa Road will be under a single-lane closure for shoulder-construction, pavement work and striping operations. Eastbound motorists from the Westside, Kalaheo, or Lawa‘i are recommended to take Kaumuali‘i Highway to Maluhia Road to access Koloa and Po‘ipu.
During those same days and times, Koloa Road will be under full closure from Po‘ipu Road to Ala Kalanikaumaka (western bypass road near ‘Oma‘o Road intersection). Motorists will be detoured to Lopaka Paipa Boulevard during this closure.
As a reminder, ‘Oma‘o Road is a narrow residential road that is not intended to be used as a detour route, and not designed for high volumes of traffic. The speed limit is 25 mph. Through trucks are prohibited on ‘Oma‘o Road for the duration of this project. Questions or concerns may be directed to Tristan Gonzales at 462-8057 or Ryan Moura at 298-2431.
