WAIMEA — The Friends of King Kaumuali‘i invite the community of Kaua‘i to join them Saturday when the group does a community clean-up day at Pa‘ula‘ula, more commonly known as the Russian Fort Elizabeth State Park.
WAIMEA — The Friends of King Kaumuali‘i invite the community of Kaua‘i to join them Saturday when the group does a community clean-up day at Pa‘ula‘ula, more commonly known as the Russian Fort Elizabeth State Park.
Volunteers should come with close-toed shoes and gloves for the work day that starts from 8:30 a.m. centered around preparing the site for the installation of the life-statue of King Kaumuali‘i.
Ground for the site was broken on Dec. 1 with Kikiaola Construction with the theme “A ‘ohe hana nui ke alu‘ia” which translates to mean “no task is too big when done together by all.”
Once the life-statue is installed, the Friends of King Kaumuali‘i, a 501(3)C nonprofit organization, is scheduled to host a formal blessing and “Welcome Home” for Kaumuali‘i on March 20.
