Vaccines for kupuna 75 and over readily available

LIHU‘E — COVID-19 vaccine appointments for kupuna aged 75 or older are currently available at a number of locations on Kaua‘i, for first and second doses.

Earlier this year, some locations were fully booked or did not have vaccines available. Now appointments are available to be booked. Only residents 75 or older are eligible at this time.

To sign up at one of these locations, visit the websites:

• Longs in Kapa‘a: cvs.com/immunizations/covid-19-vaccine;

• Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waimea: kauai.hhsc.org/;

• Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital in Kapa‘a: kauai.hhsc.org/;

• Wilcox Medical Center in Lihu‘e: wilcoxhealth.org/Vaccine.

Kupuna 75 and older who are established patients at Ho‘ola Lahui can also schedule vaccine appointments at their locations.

Those needing assistance with the online-appointment systems should ask friends or family members to help. If not, call the county Agency on Elderly Affairs at 241-4470 and they can help schedule appointments. They cannot help if no appointments are available or if people are not yet eligible.

As of Feb. 19, some 21,000 doses of vaccine have been administered on Kaua‘i.

The state Department of Health has announced intentions to expand eligibility to residents age 70 and older next month.

    I just read an article out on Dr. Fauci and he said that by July they should make it ready for the public. The vaccines should work on also the B.1.1.7 variant strain also. The more contagious virus. I had some few questions still about the more contagious virus. Does it act counter productive to our immune system in relativity to its strength against the body’s immune system? That means that is not enough. The vaccines. How is this going to become of it?

    Interesting vaccine info at Children’s Health Defense dot com, about adults and Covid vaccines. This website is apparently led by attorney Robert F. Kennedy, nephew of President John F. Kennedy.

    The article brings to light that approximately 1,000 people have died from the vaccine.

    250 of whom were dead in 48 hours after taking the vaccine.

    There are other interesting articles as well.

    This may be of interest to some seniors.

    The article brings to light that approximately 1,000 people have died from the vaccine, already some time ago. The article is some weeks old already.

    250 of whom were dead in 48 hours after taking the vaccine. This concerns me as to the safety of the vaccine.

    As well, statistics show in the USA that 400,000 people who waik into hospitals, not by ambulance, are dead within a few hours to a few days due to medical errors or reactions to prescription drugs administered to them.

    It is so common that it is routine and expected and not seriously addressed as to how to stop the deaths.

    Now we find it is similar to the vaccine. Taking a chance can be fatal.

    The Pfizer Moderna vaccines are registered as being experimental, not tested, as well as being only an experimental laboratory Gene therapy.
