KAPA‘A — Kaua‘i Fire Department firefighters extinguished a storage shed that caught fire Saturday afternoon at a residence in Kapa‘a.
No injuries were reported.
Kaiakea and Kapa‘a firefighters were dispatched to a home on Mei Place in Kapa‘a shortly before 1:45 p.m., where they found a plastic storage shed on fire. Firefighters were able to quickly gain control of the fire and fully extinguish the blaze shortly after arriving on scene.
The cost of damages to the shed and its contents are estimated at approximately $5,000. There was also damage to the main residence due to heat from the shed fire.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
