Mayor signs fourth flood proclamation

LIHU‘E — Mayor Derek Kawakami signed the fourth supplementary emergency proclamation on Friday as a result from severe storms and flooding during the torrential of March 27 and 28, 2020.

The disaster emergency relief period shall now continue until terminated 60 days after Nov. 20, 2020, or by a separate proclamation, whichever comes first.

The purpose of the emergency proclamation is to provide continued relief for disaster damages, losses and suffering, and to protect the health, safety and welfare of Kaua‘i residents and visitors.
