Our democracy depends on credible vote counts

Ray Domingo wrote that Trump and his supporters should concede the election (Nov. 16 letters).

Our right to vote in a fair election is a sacred right. For our democracy to function, we need confidence in the integrity of the process.

There are many reports of potential fraud or unconstitutionality. Mr. Domingo wrote that anyone who believes that any of these reports might be true is “naïve or stupid-thinking.” Polls indicate that this includes most Trump voters. Mr. Domingo admitted that he is not smart, but he harshly judged over 50 million voters.

The media told us that Joe Biden would win by a landslide. They were showing Florida (a key indicator) as leaning toward Biden. At the same time, I heard from conservative sources that the early voting already showed that Trump would win Florida.

I was so stupid-thinking that I did not believe the major media. I even went out on a limb and wrote a letter here before the election (see 11/1) that Trump would win Florida.

I am not as confident now that Trump will win the overall election as I was about Florida. However, the same sources who opposed the media and said that Trump would win Florida are now reporting the likelihood of major fraud that could change the results in many states.

There are videos of Republican observers being denied their legal rights to observe the vote counting. Denying observers their proper rights looks like an admission of guilt. In many counties, there were more votes cast than the number of residents of legal age to vote.

There are reports of Dominion voting machines, designed by people on the left, that switched 6,000 votes from Trump to Biden in just one county. These same machines were used in many states with millions of ballots. It is reported that Texas refused to purchase Dominion machines because the software had back-door access that would allow outsiders to manipulate the results.

There is no honest reason to oppose examinations of the election. If major fraud or unconstitutionality is found, it should be exposed. If Biden still wins the election after more scrutiny, so much better for him. Many left-wing advocates are in favor of more recounts and legal challenges to drive home Biden’s apparent victory.

It is unlikely that recounts and challenges would uncover every bit of fraud, be we should at least allow some time for sunlight on the election process.

It’s abandoned cars, not brain surgery

Aloha. Just wanted to comment on the abandoned-car situation.

Why are taxpayers paying for the cost of abandoned cars? This is ridiculous. All cars have VIN numbers stamped on the engine (Vehicle Identification Numbers).

Find the owner and make them responsible.

Something’s fishy on this council

KANISHESHIRO. The ‘Oma‘o hub a tourist attraction for a bucolic strand of Koloa Road. I don’t like what I read this week about Kaneshiro’s project.

It would seem his bill allowing this project was a bill HE introduced to allow retail use of agriculture land he owns. Kaneshiro introduces a county bill that he personally benefits from. Something wrong with that concept, almost Trump-like. I see a turning lane in one direction is well under construction. Insider information, perhaps?

I don’t see this as a community benefit, but personal gain for a county councilmember.

My two cents.

Mark, after reading your letter — which, for its length, was incredibly short of anything substantive but certainly full of specious claims and conjecture — the thought occurred to me . . . are you a conspiracy theorist by any chance?

We live in an age where you can contest EVERYTHING….whether the sky is blue, dogs bark, whether up is down. And now we’re all the way Through The Looking Glass, people. For thanks to the likes of Donald Trump you can now have your own facts! Bigger inauguration crowds! Guilty Central Park black kids! Obama born in Kenya! So if you want to believe the whole massive election was a fraud you can do that! Yes you can! You can change all those votes! (Except for the ones where republicans won, of course.)

      Hey Steven,
The biased and fraudulent polls reported by the media before the election turned out to be a conspiracy fact, not a conspiracy theory.
Whether there was enough fraud to change the outcome, I do not know. But there is so much smoke indicating fraud, we should at least check how much fire is behind it.

Mr. Beeksma – Donald Trump lost the election by what will end up being more than five million votes. Joe Biden will be sworn in as President on January 20th. The facts are very clear. In Mr. Trump’s own opinion, Mr. Biden’s electoral college vote count of 306 is a landslide. So have comfort in the predictions.

Unfortunately, you are repeating the lies and fraudulent claims made by Mr. Trump in his failing attempts – no surprise, since he fails at everything – to overturn a free and fair election. His own government has reported that the election irregularities you repeated aren’t true, and everything you wrote about has been exposed as false and debunked. He’s been losing case after case in court, where actual facts must be presented – not just Trump’s stream of insanity. His legal team fell apart and he’s now being represented by Rudolph Guiliani, who is a craven Trump sycophant and worldwide laughingstock. It’s hard to imagine things getting worse for Trump, but he’ll probably figure out a way to drop beyond rock bottom.

Mr. Trump has been able to get by on grifting, lies and fraud for decades, but he’s run out of luck. He has made himself the most famous loser on earth. Mr. Trump might consider assembling a team of actual lawyers (he’ll have to pay them, which he isn’t good at) who will be able to represent him if and when state Attorneys General indict him for financial and tax crimes. January 21 will likely be a grim day for the Trump family.

What planet have you been on. Democratic fraud is being hidden by the MSM and facebook, twitter, etc.. They are incredibly biased against President Trump. Let the investigations finish so we can trust elections again. Punish those who lie and cheat. Do not let the Democgats steal another election.

Anyone who uses the phrase “MSM” loses any credibility immediately. By the way, FOX news is “mainstream media” by any reasonable definition since it is a network news channel. PS: the earth is flat in case you didn’t know.

So it looks like we just can’t agree who won the election. What do we do now? I say we bring it to a vote. Oh, wait…

Linda; A guy buys a beater car for $1000 and fails to register it then abandons it when he moves back to the mainland. Is the person who sold the car responsible and should they be? How do we track down the buyer back in Colorado and make him pay if he has no money? Does the County atty file a lawsuit and hope to collect someday, while the junked car sits there until we can maybe collect on the judgement in 5 years? There has to be a better way. First, change the law to require the seller to file the change of ownership documents with the County. It won’t solve everything but at least we will know who owns the car. Next, charge a recovery fee for every sale of a vehicle to go towards getting rid of junked cars.

    Mr. Beeksma-

Thankfully, we have courts (many with justices appointed by Republicans) who have presided over what appear to be frivolous cases brought by Trump in an attempt to cast doubt in the minds of people like yourself. Every case has been thrown out for lack of merit. Every case undermines our democracy and gives our adversaries an opening to denounce democracy and to promote autocracy.

It has become a deplorable farce, and sad for our country.

I am sorry that the candidate you so worship has lost, and lost face, but I am so happy that he will not remain President come January 20. Let’s wear our masks, beat back this virus, and get back to a semblance of normal in SO many ways, shall we?

When I first read Kaneshiro’s proposal and then who proposed it, I also thought “personal gain” and not community benefit. Yes, he owns the property and therefore should be able to do with it as he pleases but this whole thing has a bad smell to me. Ttoo much like a Trump-ism.

History seems to repeat itself. I’d like to share a quote from Charles Dickens. “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair.” Carefully read the it and see whether if is appropriate now or not.

These are baseless claims from Trump because he can’t stand that he LOST. He also claimed fraud in 2016 because he couldn’t accept that Clinton got more popular votes.

    And then there’s this…
2016: “Green Party candidate Jill Stein filed for a statewide recount in the 2016 election after Trump won the state by almost 23,000 votes. Trump, the president-elect, had mocked those efforts, calling Stein’s move a “scam” designed to fill her coffers with money, most of which she will never even spend on this ridiculous recount. The results of this election should be respected instead of being challenged and abused, which is exactly what Jill Stein is doing, Trump said. The president’s son Eric had tweeted that the $3.5 million Stein’s campaign was spending could have saved at least 5,000 Children’s Lives.”

Today: “The Trump campaign wired 3 Million dollars to the Wisconsin Election Commission for the long-shot bid to overturn the state results. In a statement, the campaign said it was asking for recounts in Milwaukee and Dane counties.”
Total electoral votes in Wisconsin = 10, which still wouldn’t put him close to re-election. It’s just another ‘ego soothing’ waste of money for the petulant man child.

And, let me reiterate what Trump said in 2016: “The results of this election should be respected instead of being challenged and abused, which is exactly what Jill Stein is doing,”

Mr. Beeksma’s letter clearly illustrates the false piety of the losing party in this election. Disingenuous at best. Republicans need to get back to work on what they do best – voter suppression and gerrymandering.

“Many reports of fraud” Trump has a $1 million reward for reports of voter fraud – no takers. The New York Times has called the voting officials in all 50 States – no reports. Please Mr. Beeksma – name one – I want that money!
The Dominion Voting Machine issues are part of a fully debunked by Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) a stand alone US Federal Agency created by a 2017 law signed by Trump. The particulars are from a QAnon conspiracy Theory (We could stop right there but let’s not). Rudy Giuliani claimed that Dominion was owned by Smartmatic which was owned by famous leftist Hugo Chavez. None of that was true and debunked quickly by several Federal Agencies. I don’t blame Mr. Beeksma for leaving out these details. The White House claimed a source for all this was a report from the Edison Research election monitoring group. Edison Research said that they did not write such a report, and that they “have no evidence of any voter fraud.” Dominion is a wholly owned Toronto, Canada Company.
Vote counting observers had to comply with local rules regarding distance from counters, these vary, and social distancing. Even where not all were close, some were close enough for their purpose which was the same as the TV cameras trained on the counters and the others watching as well.
My memory, rather good, actually, says Florida was considered a tossup by the Satanic Media, or whatever you call them. A Tight Trump-Biden Race in Florida: was the NY Times headline Sep 14th.
Many Counties – more votes thatn residents. Go up to 1st paragraph to reward and NYT comment.

    1. Pete Antonson November 20, 2020 2:06 pm Reply

correction: The $1 million dollar reward is actually offered up by the Lt. Gov. of Texas.

Physical ballots were changed/tampered with, thrown out, destroyed, forged outright, illegally cast, mailed in late, scanned multiple times. Electronic voting machines were manipulated before, during and after election day resulting in the changing of millions of votes. Poll watchers were not allowed to do their jobs and in some cases were threatened or ejected.

Do you think it is highly suspicious that all “errors” resulted in Biden gains and Trump losses?

There was widespread fraud in the 2016 election but Trump pulled out a victory because the opposition only had fake poll numbers (attempted voter suppression by the mainstream media, social media/big tech) to go on. In 2020 the Coronavirus Scamdemic sparked changes in election protocol in many states; in some of these cases the altering of these protocols by means other than legislation (as the US Constitution dictates) will be ruled unconstitutional. Counts in key states were paused in the middle of the night to allow for fraudulent ballot harvesting in order to overcome Trump’s leads in those states. Expect these illegal votes to be discounted.

Not only will there be a major shift in the election results (with Trump winning the electoral and the popular votes) but there will be significant jail time for those involved in the collusion, including some higher-ups in the U.S. government.

The Democratic party as we know it is OVER.

    Just a heads up.

Mark, Consider this from today’s Foreign Affairs journal, hardly a bastion of leftist thought: “Public trust in the United States has broken down to such a degree that disinformation is likely to proliferate even in the face of concerted government efforts to combat it. Seventy million Americans voted for Trump, a candidate who actively disseminates disinformation to mobilize and energize his supporters.”

Read the last clause carefully. It’s almost all about Trump managing his insecure ego at your expense.

“Just a heads up” is a rather brilliantly applied
idiom since we know where your head actually is!
In fact, “Insider” is a rather unintentionally brilliant title as well!
Not a single premise you have offered is true.
Not a single report has risen along the lines you offer.
