KOLOA – The county Department of Public Works and Goodfellow Bros. LLC. announced that Koloa Road between Po‘ipu Road and Ala Kalanikaumaka is scheduled to close on weekdays, from now to Friday, Oct. 30, for road construction.

The hours of the closure are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The detour route during this closure includes Ala Kalanikaumaka, Lopaka Paipa Boulevard and Po‘ipu Road. There will not be any access from Po‘ipu Road to Koloa Road during working hours. Access to residents and businesses in the work zone will occur from Ala Kalanikaumaka.

Paving operations will continue on Maluhia Road from now to Friday, Oct. 23, under a single lane closure, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. One lane of alternating traffic will be maintained. During the single lane closure, flaggers will be positioned to assist motorists. The use of alternative routes is not recommended.

Dates and times are subject to change depending on weather and other factors.

Traffic delays may occur during this period.

Questions or concerns may be directed to Michael Jauch, 808-278-8403.

Due to weather and scheduling delays, the DPW announced that portions of Ala Kinoiki will experience lane shifts and partial lane closures on weekdays, from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., from now to Friday, Oct. 23.

The lane shifts and partial closures allow Pacific Preferred Contractors Corporation, a subcontractor to Maui Kupono Builders LLC, to continue with the installation of permanent striping and pavement markings along Ala Kinoiki and a portion of Po‘ipu Road.

Anyone with questions may contact Maui Kupono Builders at 808-369-1800 or the County of Kaua‘i DPW Roads Division at 241-4847.
