Rebecca Carnate was chosen for the Zonta Club of Kaua‘i Spirit Award because she takes care of the sign even if she’s volunteering for herself and not the Zonta Club or Lions Club, Saturday during the food distribution at the Aloha Sweet Delites store in Kaumakani.

Edie Ignacio Neumiller (she’s a Zonta Club of Kaua‘i past president) said the Kaua‘i County Committee on the Status of Women will be part of the Friday program at the unique historical exhibit of women leaders from 4:30 p.m. at the Kaua‘i Society of Artists gallery in Kukui Grove Center.

Edie was doing the reunion bit with longtime friends Laurie Ho and Bev Pang (she missed the Mama Lucy’s roast pork by one day) at the Puhi Park Produce, where Ferdinand Dosono and his Kaua‘i Kim Chee (did they have roast pork?) ‘ohana sold out early.
Kudos to Judge Randal Valenciano, Kelvin Moniz and all those Kaumakani people on hosting a great food distribution (Randy Francisco was even able to score a couple of gallons of milk afterwards) Saturday, where Rebecca Carnate was babysitting that temperature scanner with three buttons on the side (yes, if you volunteered, you had your temperature scanned). She even had her Zonta spirit sign to babysit even if she wasn’t there on behalf of the Zonta Club of Kaua‘i.
Lacie Love (she’s another Zonta Club of Kaua‘i member) was at the Second annual Garden Island Boogie Board Classic (her sons were scheduled to be in the water at 1:30 p.m.), and said that is the reason Rebecca got the Spirit Award.
Mahalo, Jo Evans of Da Kine Images (also known as Fotos4Food and Kaua‘i Drone) for the collection of photos, including the drone shots of the Kaumakani food distribution, where even Beau Acoba took time to help pass out all those goodies, including Aloha Sweet Delite yummies.
