Flash Flood Watch in effect

A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect for kauai county through Monday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

Moisture and instability from departing Hurricane Douglas will maintain the threat of flash flooding. Heavy rainfall will be possible, especially the interior and north sections of the island. Rainfall totals of 3 to 6 inches with locally higher amounts are possible.

Do not cross fast flowing water in your vehicle or on foot. Monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action if a Flash Flood Warning is issued. If you experience heavy rain or rising water, head to higher ground immediately.
