LIHUE — The public is invited to the Rice Street Reveal event along the shared-use path by ‘Eiwa Street from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.
“We are excited to be unveiling our shared-use path, transit hub, and the Lihue Lua,” said Mayor Derek S. K. Kawakami.
There will be vendors, music, and food trucks.
The Lihue Town Core Mobility and Revitalization project is mostly funded by the Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) program. In 2015, the County of Kauai was awarded A $15.1 million TIGER grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation. The county is funding an additional $2 million for the project.
