Aloha Rep. Ms. Gabbard,
My name is Steve Yoder, one of your constituents on Kauai, and I just watched Sen. Mitch McConnell addressing the U.S. Senate live on TV. It was the best speech I’ve ever seen and heard a senator address our U.S. Senate. I do not support the impeachment of President Trump, as he has committed no crime. His only crime was what Senator McConnell said in that President Trump has simply ruffled the feathers of U.S. bureaucrats and is opposing the Democratic Party.
The president, though, is fulfilling his 2016 campaign promises to put our country back on course. His policies of lower taxes and reduced regulations are employing record numbers of Americans of every race and gender.
These same policies are also responsible for increasing their take-home pay. He’s keeping our borders secure against illegal immigration while supporting legal immigration. He’s earning the respect of our allies, in some cases begrudgingly, and giving every reason for our enemies to respect and fear American military might.
I called senators, Mazie Hirono and Brian Schatz, and told the staff members who answered the phone that I totally agree with Sen. Mitch McConnell’s senatorial speech today and that I disagree with the Democratic majority U.S. House of Representatives’ rushed, 12-week impeachment proceedings and yesterday’s impeachment vote. I do not approve of a Democratic partisan congressional vote setting the table to nullify my vote for President Trump, along with 63 million Americans on Nov. 8, 2016, thus undoing the 2016 presidential election. If we as Americans disagree with President Trump’s policies and/or mannerisms, the American electorate can elect someone else on Nov. 3, 2020.
Although I am not a constituent in Rep. Ed Case’s congressional district (CD1), I also called his office, stating the same to his staff member. I called your office, but your mailbox was full, thus the reason for this email.
I’m in total agreement with former New Jersey Sen. Robert Torricelli’s (D) comment today, “… one of the foundations of America’s success has been political stability.”
Thank you for not voting to impeach President Trump, but simply voting “present.”
Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Steve Yoder, Kauai GOP County Chair
How about MY comment “One of the foundations of America’s success has been a system of checks and balances, questioning political authority, especially when it slides toward autocratic ‘I can do do wrong’ ‘It’s my way or the Highway’, ‘Get over it’ attitudes from a New Yawk con man”.
Trump’s policies of lower taxes and reduced regulations may be employing record numbers of Americans of every race and gender for right now, until the inevitable economic crash he is fomenting, BUT THEY ARE ENRICHING THE ALREADY WEALTHY AND ENDANGERING THE ENVIRONMENT. I want my grandchildren to enjoy a nicer planet than the one which is degenerating because of climate deniers and those who seek short term profits over long term solutions.
How about you, Steve Yoder? Have you grandkids? Do you care about them and the future and the future of all younger generations? Or you on board with Trump and that fossil McConnell?
I am hoping that Trump, and McConnell and Gabbard, and yourself, all crawl under a rock together and get out of the way of a brighter, more progressive future.
The trump, in his phone call with Ukraine President Zelensky, blatantly committed Abuse of Power and used United States’ Foreign Policy and power to advance his own political interest A usurpation of foreign policy that has lasting consequences for the United States. As we see on this page, Abuse of Power is “no crime” in the mind of a trump sychophant.
