HONOLULU — OHA announced the selection of the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement to administer a $1.6-million grant to provide emergency financial assistance to low-income Native Hawaiians statewide.
“We are proud to partner with CNHA to provide critical kokua to our beneficiaries who are in the most need,” said OHA Board of Trustees Chairwoman Colette Machado in a press release.
“So many of our beneficiaries are scraping to get by. For many, all it takes is one missed paycheck, one unexpected health scare, one unfortunate accident, to push them to the streets. This grant will provide funding to help those individuals cope with these emergencies and stay in their homes.”
The grant is intended to assist Native Hawaiians statewide, whose incomes are at or below 300 percent of Hawaii Federal Poverty Guidelines, to address unexpected crises, such as loss of income, loss of employment by layoff, debilitating illness or injury or other unanticipated circumstances.
“With this grant, CNHA will provide qualified individuals and families with emergency funding to stabilize their situations,” the release said.

What a ripoff, you have non-Hawaiians that sit on the DLNR who somehow got large DHHL lands that were set aside by Congress for the sole benefit of displaced native Hawaiians making a handsome profit because of that $1 dollar/year lease, which in turn, are leased out at market prices.
These corrupt DLNR are of Japanese, former State legislatures collecting their pensions and getting these leases, while Hawaiians are dying just to get a measy piece of DHHL to live on! It is illegal, just the same as the State who approved construction on Mauna Kea for those telescopes, land it does not own.
Like I say the descendants of the Japanese sugar immigrants are racists and self serving parasites existing at the expense of native Hawaiians, who should have been deported back to Hiroshima and Okinawa when their 3 year contract with the Hawaiian nation.
Hawaiians are tired of listening to their own self pity about internment camps, when the other option should have been immediate deportation to be incinerated by atomic blast at Hiroshima and slaughtered by US Marines in Okinawa.
