Dwayne Linn ‘Manny’ Fernandez
Dwayne Linn “Manny” Fernandez, 67, of Kekaha, passed away on Oct. 5, 2019. He was born Sept. 11, 1952, in Honolulu, to Andres and Winona Fernandez. He began his career at the U.S. Navy Pacific Missile Range Facility at Barking Sands as a firefighter in the Crash Fire Rescue unit.
He was preceded in passing by father Andy, sister Maynette and brother Kiley.
He is survived by wife Kim (Ryan), daughters Ryann Mailani (Aaron) and Paige Keana, grandchildren Tyson Vaika (Mailani) and Khloe Amaya (Paige), mother Winona (Robert), sister Gigi (Charlie), sister Stacey (Steven), nephew Kiv Rivera, niece Kira Rivera, nephew Chase Bohn, niece Kaylee Fernandez, niece La‘akela Fernandez, uncle Pelane Fernandez, countless family members of the Fernandez clan, an immeasurable amount of friends, softball teammates, and many more.
His celebration of life is Saturday, Nov. 9, at St. Raphael Church, 3011 Hapa Rd., Koloa, with visitation from 8:15 to 9:45 a.m., with Mass at 10 a.m. and ohana-style lunch to follow.
The family suggests casual or aloha attire and that flowers be omitted, though fresh lei are welcome.
Bruce W. Victorino
Bruce W. Victorino, 70, of Kapaa, passed away at home on Oct. 26, 2019. He was born in Lihue on Jan. 17, 1949, and retired as a cook.
He was preceded in death by father Robert P. Victorino.
He is survived by mother Alice Victorino (Maeno), sisters Joyce A. Hada and Sharleen (Peter) Soule, niece Bonnie Soule, nephews Jeremy Soule, Derick Hada and Dana Hada, and Coco.
Private services will be held.
Kauai Memorial Gardens &Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Leilani Virginia Doyle
Leilani Virginia Doyle, 78, of Morocco, Indiana, passed away on July 9, 2019, at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, Illinois. She was born on March 16, 1941, in Lihue.
She retired from Permonite/Intech Corporation after working 37 years as a lead machine operator.
She was preceded in death by parents Filomeno John Sr. and Virginia (Barba) Tangalin.
She is survived by husband of 55 years Donald Doyle Sr., children Donald (Linda) Doyle Jr., Christopher (Susan) Doyle and Bernard (Debbie S) Doyle, brothers John (Bernadette) Tangalin Jr., Leroy L. Tangalin, Thomas D. Tangalin, Casey Tangalin, James (Amie) Tangalin and John (Nancy) Pauole, sisters Veronica (Norman) Sakaguchi and Shanti (David) Reinhardt Kanter, seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services were held in Kentland, Indiana.
Robert Lawrence Bentley
Robert Lawrence Bentley, 67, of Lihue, fell asleep in death on Oct. 5, 2019, at Cebu North General Hospital in the Philippines. He was born on Oct. 13, 1951, in Wakefield, Rhode Island. He was a retired general contractor of Us Guys Builders and BZ Building.
He was preceded in death by parents Howard Osborne Bentley in December 1990 and Beverly Elsie Bentley in July 2010.
He is survived by daughter Christina (Donivan) Konno of Lihue, son Brian J. Bentley of Kapaa, sisters Bonnie (Linda) Bentley and Elizabeth Bentley, both of Grand Terrace, California, grandsons Ethan, Makoa and Landon Konno, and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.
Memorial services are Saturday, Nov. 9, at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary in Koloa, with visitation at 10 a.m. and service at 11 a.m. The family suggests casual attire and requests that flowers be omitted.
A private scattering of ashes will occur at a later date.
Godofredo Partible Nerida
Godofredo Partible Nerida passed away on Oct. 27, 2019.
He was born on Jan. 14, 1947, and worked for Kauai Nursery &Landscaping.
He was preceded in death by parents Victorio Nerida and Elena Nerida and sisters Maria P. Nerida and Theresa P. Nerida.
He is survived by son Alfred Nerida, stepsons Samuel Negrillo and Randy Negrillo of Lihue, stepdaughter Julie Pearl Embernate of Lihue, brothers Jose P. (Sopet) Nerida of the Philippines, Benjamin P. (Claring) Nerida of California, Roldolfo P. (Maria) Nerida of the Philippines and Felix P. (Flory) Nerida, sisters Zemaida P. (Lindo) Nerida and Erlinda P. (Reynato) Nerida, all of the Philippines, cousins Adelina (Ricardo) Navor and Soledad (Ben) Negrillo, all of Kauai, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A celebration of life will be Wednesday, Nov. 13, at Immaculate Conception Church, with visitation from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. and Mass at 10 a.m.
