Agencies seek businesses’ help

LIHUE — The Federal Emergency Management Agency in partnership with the County of Kauai will be hosting Industry Day at the Kauai Emergency Management Agency on Wednesday, Oct. 23, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“FEMA is reaching out to local and small businesses who may be interested in assisting before, during and after disasters,” said KEMA Administrator Elton Ushio.

“This event will help Kauai business to be better prepared to work with FEMA, as well as state and local government partners, creating a win-win situation for businesses and whole-community emergency management,” he said in a press release.

Speakers include representatives from FEMA, KEMA, county Office of Economic Development and Kauai Chamber of Commerce.

It is free, but registration is required.
