Teodoro O. ‘Teddy’ ‘Boy’ ‘Godo’ Gorospe Jr.
Teodoro O. “Teddy” “Boy” “Godo” Gorospe Jr. was born on May 15, 1952, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital. He passed away on July 8, 2018, at the age of 67 at Queen’s Hospital on Oahu, with his loving wife Dee Dee and sister Nadeen by his side.
He was preceded in death by his father Teodoro O. Gorospe Sr., sister Rose Marie Gorospe, uncle James Alviar, grandma Josephine “Tinang” Villanueva, and brother-in-law Duane Aliveado.
He was a cook at the Coco Palms and Sea Shell Restaurant and retired from Akita Enterprises Ltd. where he was a school bus driver.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 ½ years Deanne Dee Dee Worthington Gorospe of Kapahi, daughter Rynda (Daniel “Danny”) Gorospe-Ka‘aihue of Kapaa, sons Dustin Gorospe of Kapahi, Ryan (Delrae “Kaleo”) Gorospe-Keli‘ipule‘ole of Kapahi, grandchildren Courtney Gorospe, Kalin “Waikaula” (Nissa Raposas) Gorospe-Keli‘ipule‘ole, Kelsie “Honey-Girl” Gorospe-Keli‘ipule‘ole, Daniel “Mana Boy” Gorospe-Ka‘aihue, Makoa Gorospe, Kainalu “Kai Boy” Gorospe-Ka‘aihue and Kaison “Walea” Gorospe-Keli‘ipule‘ole, hanai sons Kalin Cummings of Kapahi, Kiko Kaneali‘i of Anahola, mother Rose Villanueva-Alviar, brothers Richard Dale “Sonny” (Rubelyn A. “Ruby” Tolentino) Gorospe of Kapaa, Conrado “Dado” (Corazon “Cora”) Gorospe of Kapaa, James “Jimmy” (Sue) Macasio of Seneca, Kanasas, Steve Elder of Knoxville, Tennessee and Scott “Scotty” (Cindy) Elder of Knoxville, Tennessee, sisters Adeline (Howard Toki II) of Lihue, Leonora “Nora” (Michael) Ornellas of Kapaa, Nadeen Aliveado of Wahiawa, Oahu, Norine “Girlie” (John) Goas of Pennsylvania and Denise (Edward “Eddie”) Alamillo of Makawao, Maui, and numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
Services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 26, at St. Catherine Church, with visitation from 8 to 9:55 a.m. with Mass and services to be held at 10 a.m.
A celebration of life will be held at St. Catherine’s Coyle Hall behind the church. A scattering of ashes will be held at a later date.
Oahu Cemetery and Crematory Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Jane Fuiko Itokazu
Jane Fuiko Itokazu passed away peacefully at home in Honolulu on Sept. 11, 2019, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Kilauea on July 13, 1943, to Yae Muraoka Sasaki and Henry Kaneichi Sasaki, and grew up in Hanalei. She graduated from Hanalei School and Kapaa High School. After high school she attended Cannon’s School of Business in Honolulu.
While working at the same restaurant in Honolulu, she met her husband Steven Shigeru “Peter” Itokazu. They were married for 37 years until his passing.
She enjoyed Okinawan folk dancing, watching “WWE” on TV, and going to Las Vegas with her friend Sally. She was a very caring and loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother. During the late U.S. Rep. Mark Takai’s campaign, she volunteered to hold up placards on the street to help him win the election in 2014.
She is survived by daughter Stephanie (Sean) Park, grandsons Grayson and Cody Park, brothers James Jiro (Nancy) Sasaki and Roy (Lillian) Sasaki, sister-in-law Dorothy Sasaki, brother-in-law Isamu Itokazu, and many nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at Byodo In Temple, and she will be inurned at the National Cemetery of the Pacific in the same niche as her late husband Peter, a veteran of the Korean War.
Yukiko Ikehara
Yukiko Ikehara passed away at home on Oct. 1, 2019, at the age of 90. She was born on Oct. 5, 1928, in Koolau. She worked for Wilcox Hospital dietary.
She was preceded in death by husband Keio Ikehara, son Marc Ikehara, parents Makaru and Kama Oshiro, brothers Isami Oshiro, Eitoku Oshiro and Soei Oshiro, sisters Chiyoko Tokuda and Kathleen Glauner.
She is survived by sons Lyle Ikehara of Kapaa, Guy (Karen) Ikehara of Mililani, daughter Karen Ikehara of Kapaa, grandchildren Todd Ikehara, Jody Ikehara, Kelly Ann Ikehara and Stacey Ikehara, great-grandchild Ria Nelson, brother Gene (Yariko) Oshiro of Hanamaulu, sister Florence Meadors of Oklahoma, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Private services were held.

Mark Cromwell Richards
Mark Cromwell Richards, 64, of Honolulu and Kauai, passed away in Honolulu on Sept. 13, 2019.
His love of life will be celebrated at Kukuiolono Park pavilion on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 2 to 5 p.m.
Ernesto ‘Erning’ Itabac Carbonel
Ernesto “Erning” Itabac Carbonel of Koloa passed away on Sept. 14, 2019, at Wilcox Medical Center at the age of 81.
Born in Salomague, Cabugao, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, he was retired from the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa.
He was preceded in death by parents Saturnino Q. Carbonel and Estefania I. Carbonel, brothers Bartolome Carbonel, Julio Carbonel, Alfredo Carbonel Sr., Emilio Carbonel and Eugenio Carbonel, sisters Rosita Rivad, Fortunata Carbonel and Herminia Carbonel, brothers-in-law Teofilo Serrano Sr. and Petronilo Rivad, sisters-in-law Rufina Carbonel, Dolores A. Carbonel, Aida Carbonel and Eugenia Carbonel.
He is survived by wife Dolores Tugade Carbonel, sons Ernest “Pali” (Lauri) Carbonel and Jess (Jodee) Carbonel, daughter Ralna (Jack) Burbank, grandchildren Bryson Carbonel, Trevor Carbonel, Jonah Carbonel, Jacob Burbank, Jaden Carbonel, Ryder Burbank and Jewel Carbonel, brothers Daniel (Vicenta) Carbonell and Rudolfo (Marites) Carbonel, sisters, Flora Serrano and Adelina (Luis) Rivad, and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Oct. 19, at St. Raphael Church in Koloa, with visitation from 8 a.m. Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Raphael Cemetery.

Sheila McFadden
Sheila McFadden of 121 Pear Tree Circle, Hopkins, South Carolina, was born on Nov. 3, 1947, to Lester and Alice Ignacio. She departed this earthly life and entered into her eternal life on Aug. 7, 2019, surrounded by her family.
She attended Kapaa High School. She served many years in the medical field as a nurse technician in Williamsburg County Hospital Systems in Kingstree, South Carolina.
Even though Hawaii was her home, she held a special place in her heart for Kingstree, South Carolina. She spent the latter part of her life employed with Walmart until her health declined.
She joined St. Mark Holiness Church in Kingstree, South Carolina, at an early age. After relocating back to Kapaa, she attended the Way of Salvation Pentecostal Church. She loved her family and community. She loved to cook just as much as she loved to eat.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Nolemana “Ku‘ulei” McFadden, stepfather Soichi “Boy” Kaneshiro and mother Alice “Jackie” Kaneshiro.
She is survived by daughters, Sarah, London, Latisha (Sentrell) Anderson, sons Tracy (Melody) Gonsalves, Dominique Gonsalves, Kevin Gonsalves and John-Luke McFadden, brothers Raymond (Elvrine) Chow, Seagram (Sheryl) Flores and Rodney Flores, sisters Lita Buccat, Cashie Lopez, Crystal Chow, Jerry Ann Madrid and Martha Kamaka of Hawaii, best friend Mattie Keels of Kingstree, South Carolina, special friend Rachel Ladson of Hopkins, South Carolina, 31 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held in Columbia, South Carolina, on Aug. 17, 2019.
Suzanne Deppe
Suzanne Deppe (Allen), 68, of Anahola, passed away at home on Sept. 12, 2019. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on Nov. 25, 1950.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ardel H. Deppe and parents Edward Mauter and Julia Smith.
Suzanne is survived by her brother Chuck Mauter, daughter Julie Jensen (Destry), grandsons Travis Caberto (Kanani) and Trevor Fitch, granddaughters Shannon Fitch and Savannah Fitch, and great-grandchildren Kainoa, Kainalu and Teiana.
A celebration of Suzanne’s life will be held at 4735 Aliomanu Rd. on Saturday, Oct. 19, at 3:30 p.m.

Gladys Tokiko Kobashigawa
Gladys Tokiko Kobashigawa passed away in Koloa on Sept. 25, 2019, at the age of 94. She was born on Kauai on Aug. 10, 1925. She was a housekeeping manager.
She was preceded in death by her husband Shigenobu Kobashigawa.
She is survived by sons Bert (Pat) Kobashigawa of Las Vegas, Lyle (Maryann) Kobashigawa of Hanapepe and Gregg Kobashigawa of Koloa, daughters Lynn (John) Pahk of Sunset Beach, Oahu and Susan (Kenneth) Taniguchi of Kapaa, grandchildren Ivan Pahk, Aaron (Shannon) Pahk, Keith (Chris) Kobashigawa, Corey Kobashigawa, Patti Kobashigawa, Brandi (Kimo) Nakata, Alison Taniguchi, Keola (Lianne) Taniguchi, Micah (Debra) Taniguchi, Kristi Kobashigawa and Leann Kobashigawa, brothers Shigeto “Shige” Hamamura of Lihue and Bunto Hamamura of Koloa, sister Harriet “Aunty F” Iseri of Koloa, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
