LIHUE Kauai Housing Development Corporation has hired Milo Spindt as its new executive director. Spindt will be responsible for real estate development of affordable properties, as well as management of Kauai Housing Developments properties.
LIHUE —Kauai Housing Development Corporation has hired Milo Spindt as its new executive director. Spindt will be responsible for real estate development of affordable properties, as well as management of Kauai Housing Development’s properties.
Spindt brings an extensive knowledge with affordable housing programs and possesses a strong understanding of governmental low-income housing tax credit development.
Spindt is the chairperson of the Hawaii Housing Finance and Development Board and a real estate broker. He has served on the Kauai County Council’s Affordable Housing Special Advisory Council as well as with other community organizations.
“With Milo’s experience in affordable housing, and the knowledge that he brings from his membership on the Hawaii Housing Finance and Development Board, KHDC can really make progress in playing a role in meeting Kauai’s affordable housing market.” Board President Tom Shigemoto said.
Kauai Housing Development Corporation was incorporated in 1992 as a private nonprofit corporation for the purpose of providing affordable housing for low and moderate-income families.
The organization has designed and constructed five properties — Kalepa Village II, Kalepa Village III, Paanau Village, Lihue Theater Senior Housing and Hale Kupuna Senior Housing.
Board members include Shigemoto, Michael Murakoshi, Clyde Nakaya, Wanda Shibata, Dennis Nakahara, Marc Ventura, Roy Katsuda, Gini Kapali, Keith Nitta and Gary Mackler.
Hmm, 70% of the members are Japanese. Why isn’t this condemned as over-representation? If they were white you can be sure there would be a stink raised.
