LIHUE New Hope Lihue Church will bring love, hope and fun to adults and keiki on Easter Sunday, April 21.
LIHUE — New Hope Lihue Church will bring love, hope and fun to adults and keiki on Easter Sunday, April 21.
The church will host an Easter service at 9:15 a.m. at the Kauai Veterans Center, with music, dance and food.
After the service, at 11:15 a.m. on the Vidinha Stadium soccer fields, the church will host a huge helicopter egg drop and hunt, with prizes and fun for everyone. It is free.
“The heart behind this event is to bless our community. We want people to come and have a great time with their family and friends,” said Senior Pastor John Cabello in a press release.
This helicopter egg drop will be a first for Kauai and possibly the state, say organizers. There will be over 10,000 eggs.
Cabello said the vision of New Hope Lihue is to offer love, acceptance, forgiveness and hope. The event is made possible by many volunteers and a donation from Sunshine Helicopters.
He’s hoping for a big crowd.
“They can come to our Easter service and stay for the egg drop, or just come at 11:15 a.m. for the Easter egg drop. We just want to be a blessing to our community and have fun,” Cabello said.
