LIHUE First Hawaiian Bank turned over a $20,000 corporate contribution to the Kauai United Way Wednesday.
LIHUE — First Hawaiian Bank turned over a $20,000 corporate contribution to the Kauai United Way Wednesday.
“Once again, First Hawaiian Bank has demonstrated its sincere interest in the social-service needs of the people of Kauai,” said Scott Giarman, KUW executive director. “This is not something First Hawaiian Bank has to do. They made this donation because they truly care.”
The contribution represents the largest pure corporate gift to KUW, and is among the top three corporate contributions when including matching employee gifts.
“Through campaign pledges and corporate contributions each and every year, it is evident that the employees of First Hawaiian Bank truly care for the people here on Kauai,” said Lynette Medrano-Stine, KUW campaign development director. “Many thanks to First Hawaiian Bank on Kauai for their continuous support of our island community.”
First Hawaiian Bank employees’ personal contributions have increased at an annual rate of 4 percent since 2016.
Kauai United Way is the island’s umbrella charitable organization, and its partner agencies offer more than 80 individual social-service programs.
