Ige proclaims Dec. 3-7 as Cancer Screen Week

LIHUE — Gov. David Ige has issued a proclamation declaring December 3-7 as Cancer Screen Week in Hawaii.

The goal of Cancer Screen Week is to urge Hawaii residents to talk with their health care providers about the importance of screening and early detection to save lives from cancer.

According to the American Cancer Society, 600,000 Americans will die from cancer this year. In Hawaii, nearly 6,300 residents will be diagnosed with cancer this year and 2,200 people will die from the disease. Many of these cancer deaths could prevented through earlier detection.

“Screening is essential to detect cancer early, get appropriate treatment, and help increase survival,” said Cory Chun, Hawaii government relations director for the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network. “We are grateful for the governor’s proclamation this week to raise awareness about the life-saving importance of cancer screenings and encourage Hawaii residents to talk with their doctors about their screening options.”

ACS CAN will host several activities during Cancer Screen Week to highlight the importance of early detection and screening.

Today, ACS CAN will host a panel sponsored by Lyft and Genentech with discussion focused on access to care for Native Hawaii and Pacific Islanders, two groups who face large disparities in cancer care and have lower cancer screening rates. The panel will include experts from Kamehameha Schools and Papa Ola Lokahi, a nonprofit focused on improving Native Hawaiian health.

The panel is free and open to the public. Registration information is available here.

ACS and ACS CAN will also be working with Kaiser, Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children, Straub Medical Center and Queens Medical Center to provide $3,000 in Lyft coupons to help patients get transportation for colon and breast cancer screenings during the week. Colon cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in the United States for men and women combined, but half of all colorectal cancer deaths could be prevented each year if every individual age 50 and older received recommended colorectal cancer screenings. Breast cancer is also one of the most preventable, easily treatable cancers if detected early.

“Colon cancer is one of the few cancers that you can completely prevent or detect at a very early stage with routine screening, so I’m fortunate that I was able to access my colonoscopy,” said Steve Abrams, a colon cancer survivor and ACS CAN Hawaii volunteer. “We hope that during this week, we can encourage other Hawaii residents to undergo these lifesaving measures.”

    Aloha Kakou,

Most of us have experienced the deception that when something wrong, incorrect, or untruthful is repeated enough, especially over generations of time; that it can become not only acceptable but undersevedly counted upon as reliable, even if it is manipulation of words not grounded in science or truth or what is best.

“We deserve better” is a concept that comes to mind after too many years of deception. The case in point of this article is the now old adage of come in for a Check Up to prevent or catch a deadly disease early and save lives.

Well people ARE coming in early for Check UPS, and 55% of Americans are taking at least 4 different prescription drugs as a result…and they consider themselves fortunate, because lucky they are not. Just listen to the side effects of the common drugs on TV being sold to sick people. The majority of people are being sold drugs by their doctors, and each doctor not knowing what are the other drugs their patients are taking and complicating the other prescriptions. Chemical Chaos…!

But look deeper into this charade of HELLth Care. The claim that getting an early Check Up prevents disease is an OxyMoron, how can you possibly call any disease as being prevented when you already have the problem, and the proof is that there is a diagnosis and a name and treatment for what disease you have that you came in early for a check up for. Calling it prevention is clearly moronic…as an example, when the doctor says says take off your shirt and show me the gunshot wound that is causing all the blood on your clothes, and he finds that the Bullet passed through your chest and out the back and passed through 1 of your lungs, just missing your heart by an inch…and the doctor says to you, “Good thing we caught this early and prevented it, that is, the Bullet passing through your body.”

You’d say to yourself, this doctor thinks he prevented me from being shot because I came to Emergency right after the robbery?

Well when you go to the doctor and after testing you, that is testing your body, for your complaint, and they detect Cancer. Hello, wake up, they have not prevented anything. You already have the cancer before you got to the doctor, because In most cases it takes years befor the cancer in your body is detectable.

The modern medical doctor is not there to prevent anything, their whole system is based on finding what already is a disease in you and selling you a treatment of drugs or surgery or radiation, etc. It’s as simple as that, they sell treatments of which over 95% start with drugs made from petroleum and are also in themselves as a petro-chemical they are cancer causing (carcinogenic). Fight Fire with Fire you say. That does not work with the human body as you will burn to death, and death is the outcome of many of the cancer treatments.

Proof is 600,000 Americans die while on treatment for cancer, and over 2,000 of them are in Hawaii, and the statistics are getting worse with more people getting cancer and more people dying. The medical system is not working, but it does make a lot of money.

WE as a Nation of People, we DESERVE BETTER than this extremely expensive ineffective disease care system, And we are the most expensive health care system, #1, in the world, while also and sadly ranked #37 in quality of health care in the world.

Science is satisfied with people becoming diseased, whether it’s obesity, diabetes, heart and vascular (stroke) diseases, cancers, etc., and selling the latest drug that can mask some of the symptoms while the disease itself spreads worse, deeper, and deadlier, and while you get sicker the medical system sells you more and more drugs.

Now let us say this about that. Nothing wrong with this system as that is proudly what they do and sell. They wait till you are sick and sell you treatments of drugs and surgery until goodbye at the cemetery.

WE DESERVE BETTER THAN THIS…! We as a nation, as a society, as a people deserve better than these cancer causing drug treatments that perpetuate the disease we are “fighting”.

It is not well, but it may be good to have these drugs to lessen pain at end of life…but not when you are in grammar school, or you are 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, or in your 80’s.

The only system that we know of for the last 100 years or 5 generations or longer, is this medical system that waits for you to be sick And then has a new pill for every ill. New drugs same diseases every 6 to 12 months. They sell innovative drugs and treatments, but in an old antiquated system.

And this system that we fund in so many ways earns $4 Trillion dollars a year while our nation gets sicker and weaker. Our US Military only gets $350 Billion a year.

In order to break out of this rut we are in, we need a new system, not this same old same old doctor practitioner stuff with deadly chemical treatments FOR SALE. We have proven waiting for the disease is an OxyMoron. Think: Ox + Moron.

It is time to spend the money on finding the CAUSES of diseases, Diseases are EFFECTS, Effects of Causes. We must as a Nation find and remove the Causes of Disease.

Guess what, there are a whole lot of scientists in many fields that know many of the Causes of the Effects of the common Diseases.

However this approach will not earn $4 Trillion dollars a year in Treatments.

What we do need is a whole new Profession of not medical practitioners failingly practicing on our bodies, but instead a whole new profession of PREVENTIONERS, whose sole purpose and job is to PREVENT Disease.

What if from birth to 100 years old you never went to the doctor except for an accident, an injury ? For some people that is the case. For most it is not, it’s 1 boring expensive disease after another with same old diagnosis and drugs to follow. Dental Care is also still in the Dark ?Ages.

It would be a JOKE, if medical disease care did not cost $4 Trillion a year and cost millions of lives lost.

We collectively all of us need to DEMAND that the Causes of diseases are found, and the people educated about them, and many are known already, but the Diseases make $Trillions of dollars. Hard to walk away from Trillions like that.

We must demand to have PREVENTIONERS of Disease instead of Practitioners of Disease.

Guess what…PRACTITIONERS of Disease need, YES, they need more and more Disease to maintain their businesses. An OxyMoron…or INSANITY of IGNORANCE…!

On the other hand PREVENTIONERS of Disease rely on their being NO Disease. A SANE ENDEAVOR of INTELLIGENCE…!

Scientific Research must concentrate on finding the Causes of Disease, and ridding them from our daily Exposure. Waiting around for decades to see if you were exposed to the Causes of Disease by being diagnosed will be a thing of the past.

Prevention of Disease is something that takes daily effort and needs discussion at great length and taught in at least 12 years of schooling and partaken in every day.

At the same time each person must involve themself in the Daily Promotion and Perpetuation of their own Health.

If you read the Ingredients of all foods you buy, you will se the chemical causes of disease that you may be eating every day.

Food is made by God, but the chemicals in food and drugs are made in laboratories and factories by men and women.

Is God’s Representative on Earth Is Mother Nature, she did fine until the people made the chemicals.
