Island’s Vickers, DeSouza lead all star group

The top six boys and girls finishers from the Kauai Interscholastic Federation cross country championships last month were named league all stars.

The list of standouts were released by the league Friday.

A pair of runners from Island School top the lists this year. Voyagers junior Matthew Vickers was the top boys finisher from the KIF championship meet, and sophomore Jaden DeSouza was the top girls runner.

Boys: 1. Matthew Vickers, Island School, junior; 2. Garret Smith, Kapaa, junior; 3. Kane Casillas, Kauai, senior; 4. Joshua Graves, Island School, junior; 5. Elijah Ibbs, Island School, freshman; 6. Henry Scherer, Island School, senior.

Girls: 1. Jaden DeSouza, Island School, sophomore; 2. Ella Beck, Island School, sophomore; 3. Molly Middlebrook, Kauai, freshman; 4. Juliana Tampus, Kapaa, senior; 5. Mia Takekuma, Kauai, junior; 6. Jessica Drent, Kapaa, freshman.
