LIHUE — Straub, Pali Momi and Wilcox medical centers, all part of the Hawaii Pacific Health system, were recently recognized for quality care and exceptional patient outcomes by Healthgrades, an online resource for information about physicians and hospitals.
Every year, Healthgrades evaluates hospital performance at almost 4,500 hospitals nationwide for 32 of the most-common inpatient procedures and conditions, as well as tracking outcomes in appendectomy and bariatric surgery using data provided by 15 states and the District of Columbia.
Wilcox Medical Center is a Five-Star Recipient for Treatment of Heart Attack and Stroke, which means its clinical outcomes are statistically significantly better than expected when treating heart attacks and strokes.
“We are committed to providing our patients with the highest quality care right here on Kauai, and this recognition for our treatment of heart attacks and stroke is evidence of that,” said Jen H. Chahanovich, president and CEO of Wilcox Medical Center. “Our physicians, nurses and staff are to be commended for helping to make this designation possible.”
These achievements are part of new findings and data featured in the Healthgrades 2019 Report to the Nation.
