POIPU — RumFire Poipu Beach, located oceanfront at Sheraton Kauai Resort, has selected the Kokee Resource Conservation Program as its Table 53 beneficiary for August.
Throughout each month, all net food and beverage proceeds from Table 53 are donated to local nonprofit organizations. The Table 53 initiative has raised more than $225,000 toward charitable causes since its inception in 2012.
The Kokee Resource Conservation Program provides watershed and native ecosystem preservation services for the Kokee and Alaka‘i regions in northwest Kaua‘i by removing invasive species that threaten the island’s native forests. The volunteer-based, grassroots project has been in operation since 1998 and has removed more than 12 million weeds from 11,000 acres representing over a million volunteer hours.
Patrons interested in the Table 53 program are encouraged to make reservations in advance by calling 742-4786.
