All systems were restored at the County of Kaua‘i’s Drivers License Division and Motor Vehicle Registration Tuesday.
Due to a statewide computer outage, the two offices were unable to process driver licenses and state identification cards Monday.
The outage turned away a lot of people. For the Drivers License Division and Motor Vehicle Registration on Kauai, the lowest number of transactions for the month of June was 1,746 transactions in a single day; the highest number of transactions in a single day for the month of June was 3,303.
“Additionally, both offices are busiest the last two business days of the month and may process in excess of 4,000 transactions each of the two days,” according to prepared statement by County of Kauai Treasurer David Schwartz.

Don’t Blame the system. It’s just that people depend on electronic technology(computers and such) to think and do the work for them these days. Go back into the closet/ file cabinet and use the old forms to issue renewal or new drivers license.
