The elections became very interesting over the past couple of days — Clayton Hee withdrew from the governor’s race and is deciding on what to do (does that mean he comes to the Kauai Chamber of Commerce political forum for Lt. Gov. Thursday?).

Yukie DeSilva said she saw Colleen Hanabusa having breakfast Saturday morning at Tip Top, and who was the fancy lady waving sign near the Lihue Airport?
Josie Pablo has her hatsubon, this year, but will be doing The King’s Parade (roads close from 8 a.m. Saturday!) with the residents of the Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital. She said she’ll wait until the Kapaa Hongwanji Mission bon dance to do hatsu-bon.
In the meantime, Rev. Kosen Ishikawa is getting excited about the bon dance at the Kapaa Jodo Mission, Friday (with NoKa Fair opening, where’s the parking?) to launch this year’s bon dance schedule. Sensei Aki Conquest (remember when she used to do Creative Arts?) and the Joyful Noise taiko ensemble will welcome the o-bon season along with flying saucers, and more.
