Ewaste collected in Kilauea soon

KILAUEA — The County of Kauai Recycling Office announced a free electronic waste recycling event for residents and businesses set for Sunday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Anaina Hou Community Park behind Kauai Mini Golf in Kilauea.

Acceptable electronic waste includes computers and accessories, televisions, printers, office equipment, audio and video equipment and handheld devices.

Call Resource Recovery Solutions at 245-6919 for large loads, or large industrial items that require special packaging for proper accommodation.

These mobile collection services will continue in Kilauea on the last Sunday of all odd-numbered months.

The Puhi Metals Recycling Center accepts electronic waste Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. All brands of eWaste are accepted from residents and businesses free of charge with no quantity limits. The PMRC is at 3951 Puhi Road, about a mile from the intersection of Kaumualii Highway.
