KOLOA – The Department of Public Works is announcing that one lane of alternating traffic will be open for portions of Koloa Road to allow for the performance of pavement survey work today.
WSP USA will perform the survey of Koloa Road beginning at the intersection of Kaumualii Highway from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Survey crews will start in the east-bound lane of Koloa Road at the Kaumualii Highway/Koloa Road intersection, and work in the direction of traffic towards Koloa Town until the Poipu intersection. Crews will then survey the west-bound lane, again in the direction of traffic, working back to Lawai and conclude the survey work at Kaumuali‘i Highway/Koloa Road intersection.
Work is estimated to be completed in one day.
The scope of the work will provide data for future road improvement projects for Mahulia and Koloa Roads.
Motorists should drive with caution, expect delays and adjust their travel times as needed.
