Laura Tamashiro Tateyama
Laura Tamashiro Tateyama, 77, of Kapaa, passed away on Feb. 23, 2018, in Honolulu. Born in Honolulu, she was a retired registered dietitian for Wilcox Medical Center.
She is survived by husband Joseph of Kapaa, son Terry of Arvada, Colorado, daughter Traci (Timothy Gene Sowell) Tateyama of Stevenson Ranch, California, three grandchildren, sisters Donna (Howard) Oki of Honolulu and Jean (Emory) Tokuhama of Honolulu, and brother Ernest (Naomi) of Kapaa.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 7, at Hosoi Garden Mortuary on Oahu, with service at noon. The family requests casual attire and that flowers be omitted.
Visitacion Duran Botay
Visitacion Duran Botay, 93, of Eleele, passed away on Feb. 13, 2018, at Kauai Care Center in Waimea.
Born on Oct. 11, 1924, in Laoag City, Philippines, she retired as a kitchen helper at Lihue McDonald’s.
She was preceded in death by parents Guillermo Duran and Maria Basilio Duran, sisters Rosa, Petronila, Catalina and Victoria, daughter Marilyn Reyes, son Alex Labuguen, and husband Bartolome Botay.
She is survived by daughter Glenna Agtunong of Eleele, sons Danilo (Tessie) Labuguen, Larry (Florida) Labuguen, Rolly Labuguen and Marion (Jane) Botay, all of the Philippines, and Edwin Labuguen, Melcy Botay and Bob Oliver of Kauai, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, March 10, at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo from 8 to 9:45 a.m., where Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Hanapepe Public Cemetery.
The family suggests casual attire.
