‘Weekend of Women’ marks anniversary

LIHUE — Saturday marks the one-year anniversary of last year’s Women’s March on Washington, billed as the largest single-day demonstration in U.S. history.

More than 250 marches, rallies and actions are planned in the United States and internationally for the “Weekend of Women,” as part of the anniversary, including on Kauai.

Lihue’s march, to encourage community, civic and political involvement of women and men, Will be from 11 a.m.to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Lihue Airport entrance at the intersection of Ahukini Street and Kapule Highway 51.
