LIHUE — Not all students will be returning to school, Jan 8, the resumption of classes following the winter break on Kauai.
Friday is a Teacher Work Day, according to a release from the Department of Education, Kauai Area Complex. No students will be in school.
On Monday, students in the East and West complexes, including Hanalei Elementary, Kapaa Elementary, Kilauea Elementary, Kapaa Middle, Kapaa High, Eleele Elementary, Kalaheo Elementary, Kekaha Elementary, Ni‘ihau, Waimea Canyon Middle, and Waimea High school report to classes.
Students attending Kauai High, Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle, King Kaumuali‘i Elementary, Koloa Elementary, and Wilcox Elementary will not have school due to Planning and Collaboration Day for the Central Complex schools for the second semester.
During Planning and Collaboration Days, school staff and teachers are involved in professional development and planning meetings.
On Jan. 12, students in West Complex schools, including Eleele Elementary, Kalaheo Elementary, Kekaha Elementary, Ni‘ihau, Waimea Canyon Middle, and Waimea High, will not have school due to Planning and Collaboration Day for the West Complex for the second semester.
Students in the East Complex, including Hanalei Elementary, Kapaa Elementary, Kilauea Elementary, Kapaa Middle, and Kapaa High, will not have school on Feb. 26 due to Planning and Collaboration Day for the East Complex schools for the second semester.
Feb. 13 is Kauai Teacher Institute Day which means no school for all students.
