Da Shadow: Cars, Coco Palms

  • Jerome Freitas is “Da Shadow.”

w Editor’s note: Old-timers might still remember the introduction from “The Shadow” radio program: “Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men? The Shadow knows!” Jerome Freitas, a retired state Department of Transportation worker who is now better known as Da Shadow, since 2004 has been meeting with government representatives about problems he has discovered or that have been reported to him, and reporting the county’s responses.

How much has the county paid for the removal of abandoned and/or derelict vehicles over the last four years?

For both abandoned vehicle/derelict vehicle tows, the county has spent a total of $215,197 from fiscal year 2015 through current.

Regarding abandoned vehicles, do they get the VIN number, track down the owner, and make them pay?

Regarding Coco Palms, good luck with the building permit – will probably take another 25 years.

Da Shadow should have a TV show on Hoike with expanded coverage of Island concerns. Go Jerome…!
