Poipu Beach Park restroom closed

POIPU – The main comfort station at Poipu Beach Park has been closed until further notice due to work being conducted for the county Department of Parks & Recreation’s Poipu Beach Park improvements project.

Pacific Blue Construction was awarded a $670,000 contract for the project. The scope of work includes replacing fixtures in the main comfort station and improvements to the pavilions, playground and showers.

Portable toilets are available near the main comfort station.

The Poipu project is part of the department’s “Super Parks” initiative in an effort to upgrade its heavily used park facilities. The initiative began with the refurbishment of the structures at Lydgate Beach Park, and it is part of Mayor Bernard Carvalho Jr.’s Holo Holo 2020 vision for Kauai.
