LIHUE — Kauai took time to thank veterans — any, and all veterans — and active service military personnel for all they have done to enable us to enjoy the freedom of living in America.

The Kauai Veterans Council hosted a parade with a theme of honoring our veterans who serve in the community as Kauai Fire Chief Robert Westerman, and Kauai Council Chair Mel Rapozo, both veterans, presided as grand marshals over the festivities which attracted hundreds of people to Rice Street and the historic County Building.

The Kauai Veterans Council invite everyone to the annual Veterans Day service which takes place, Saturday — at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month — at the Kauai Veterans Cemetary in Hanapepe.
