FILE – This March 31, 1996 file photo shows Michelle Marciniak, of Tennessee, holds the women’s NCAA National Championship trophy after cutting the net and waving to the crowd after Tennessee defeated Georgia 83-65 in the finals of the NCAA women’s basketball tournament in Charlotte, N.C. Brooke-Marciniak played for Pat Summitt on Tennessee’s 1996 national championship team and now serves as a board member on her former coach’s foundation. She will honor Summitt once again this week as she joins a group of cyclists riding 1,098 miles – one mile for each of Summitt’s career wins – to raise money and awareness in fighting Alzheimer’s disease.
