Celebrating Decades of Inspiration

HANAPEPE — Anna Broyles reigned as Homecoming Queen over the Waimea High School festivities that paid tribute to “Decades of Inspiration” Friday night at the Hanapepe Stadium.

Prefaced by remarks from Mayor Bernard Carvalho Jr. that included the announcement of the Memo of Understanding with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the annual homecoming game was contested on a Friday night instead of the originally scheduled Saturday afternoon, attracting scores of football enthusiasts whose zeal was fired up a level with the homecoming court.

Kalsie Camelo was crowed Miss Football, Kari Correa donned the Miss Menehune sash, Apryl-Joy Grande was announced Miss School Spirit, and Monique Joy Lorenzo was Miss Victory.

Class representatives included Carla Mae Satumba representing the Class of 2018, Keana Kia-Kinzie announcing the Class of 2019, Kalee Cienna Vea Games heralding the Class of 2020, and Kayana Niheu Kamaka leading the Class of 2021.
