WESPAC to meet on Kauai in October

LIHUE — The Western Pacific Regional Fishery Management Council’s Scientific and Statistical Committee will be meeting Oct. 10-12 at the Aqua Kauai Beach Resort.

The public is welcome.

The committee is made up of federal, state and academic scientists. It reviews fishery management plans, stock assessments and rebuilding plans, and contributes scientific data to decisionmaking within the council.

Before the WESPAC agenda begins Oct. 10, there will be an ahi-tagging data presentation beginning at 8:30 a.m.
