Volunteers needed at NTBG

KOLOA — The Breadfruit Institute at the National Tropical Botanical Garden is seeking agroforestry volunteers to help implement a new, global model in sustainable and regenerative agriculture at the Breadfruit Research Orchard in McBryde Garden.

Volunteers are sought from 8 a.m. to noon Fridays.

The volunteer position is best suited for someone interested in learning about regenerative, sustainable agriculture practices. They’ll be working outdoors and be exposed to the elements. Volunteers must anticipate walking on uneven soil surfaces and standing for periods of up to two hours without a break. Physical motions may include reaching, bending, pulling, stretching and lifting.

Sign up by emailing volunteer@ntbg.org or call 332-7324, ext. 232. NTBG accepts single-day visitors or vacationing volunteers.

It may be possible to arrange another day/time with the volunteer program.
