LIHUE — The public and wholesale buyers are invited to attend the Kauai Made and Kauai Grown Wholesale Tradeshow on Friday at the Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall in Lihue.
Wholesale buyers are able to attend the tradeshow from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by the public from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Attendees will be able to shop for locally made products as well as enjoy local entertainment and a dog fashion show.
There will also be free samples and food demonstrations throughout the event.
The Kauai Made program was launched by the county in 2006 with support from the Hawaii Tourism Authority.
The aim of the program is to provide locally made products with more visibility and encourage production of value-added agricultural products.
A wide range of these products are available through the program including apparel and accessories, artwork, crafts, food, floral, health and beauty, jewelry, publications and more.
Established in 2009, Kauai Grown is an initiative of the County of Kauai and the Kauai County Farm Bureau that promotes locally grown agricultural products.
In addition, the program recognizes the farmers, ranchers, retailers and restaurants that bring these products to the consumer.
