Happy Camper for Wednesday, September 6, 2017

Peter Kruse said the Kauai Interscholastic Federation volleyball game (mahalo to Tori Kagawa for the help with results for the Saturday game) between Kapaa and Island School has been changed to the Bernice Hundley Gym today. The 5 p.m. start time for junior varsity stays the same, and the varsity game starts no earlier than 6:30 p.m.

Kudos to Kauai Pop Warner Football League president Teddy Arroyo and the KPWFL board on a successful Jamboree (Mel Rapozo said he wasn’t crying, he just had a bad cold when he was honored as a volunteer!) launching the 2017 tackle football and cheer season! Mila Rapanot (she says they’re only “interim”) and Pua Chong Tim set up the JAMZ cheer camp Sunday at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center ahead of the Oct. 22 (Mila said this is the second straight year she’s going to miss out on the Harvest Festival in Waimea!) island finals at Kapaa High School.

Stuart Hollinger had his award-winning 1st Cut band playing on the mobile stage during the Labor Day Blowout (congratulations and thank you to Ellsworth Fontes of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Motorcycle Club from Hilo!) where Tina Albao (she’ll be at the Kauai High School homecoming game Friday!) spilled tears of joy over the nearly $8,000 raised by the motorcycle enthusiasts.
