LIHUE — The deadline to comment on President Donald Trump’s review of the United States’ national monuments, including Hawaii’s Papahanaumokukea Marine National Monument, is approaching.
July 10 is the last day to send in comments about the 22 total national monuments under federal review. The comment period began in early May.
Trump initiated the investigation into the monuments through an April executive order. Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke is heading the investigation to find areas for possible downsizing or elimination of monuments.
