State officials meet on Kauai

LIHUE — The Kauai County Council will host the annual Hawaii State Association of Counties conference Monday and Tuesday at the Koloa Landing Resort at Poipu.

HSAC will be holding its executive committee meeting and general membership meeting on Monday.

On Tuesday, over 150 elected officials, government leaders and business leaders throughout the state are expected to attend the general conference, which will cover topics such as connecting communities to agriculture, creating policy for the millennial generation, and determining the future of real property tax and medical marijuana.

Local business commentator Howard Dicus of Hawaii News Now will be the keynote luncheon speaker.
