Josephine Alvarez of Kekaha passed away at the age of 93 on May 31, 2017. She was born on May 9, 1924, she was a homemaker.
She is preceded in death by her sons Gilbert Alvarez, Jose Jr. Alvarez, Jonathan Alvarez, Patrick Alvarez, husband Jose Alvarez, father Amadio Lampitoc and mother Tomasa Soriano.
She is survived by her sons Thomas Alvarez, Brendan Alvarez, Vincent Alvarez all of Kekaha, daughters Mary Alvarez-Manual of Kekaha and Cordell Blair of Colorado Springs, daughter-in-laws Margie Alvarez of Nevada and Julie Alvarez and Rachel Alvarez of Kekaha, 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 4 great great-grandchildren, brother Melvin Soriano of Oahu, sisters, Diane (Jay) Sasan, Lolita (Edward) Toves, Rosalino (Alejo) Agne all of Oahu and Arsenia (Chuck) Schroeder of Pennsylvania.
A celebration of life will be held on June 10, 2017, at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Kekaha. Visitation will be held from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Mass will be held at 11 a.m.
Burial to follow at Kekaha Cemetery.
Garden Island Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements.
Doris T. Kimokeo
Doris T. Kimokeo passed away peacefully at Kaua’i Care Center on May 19, 2017, at the age of 92. She was born on July 12, 1924, in Honolulu. Doris was a retired HGEA employee (custodian/groundskeeper) at Waimea Canyon School.
Preceded in death by her husband, William Kimokeo; and brother Yoshio Takenouchi.
She is survived by her sister Jane F. Takenouchi of Honolulu; sons, Warren Kimono of Mililani Mauka, and Kenneth Kimkeo of Kekaha; grandson Jason (Christine) Kimokeo of North Carolina; and great-grandchildren, Kaylah, Kaleo, Kawai, and Keahi.
Private services were held. The family requests no koden.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Trina Scott Collins
Trina Scott Collins of Kekaha passed away at the age of 62 on May 23, 2017. She was born on March 18, 1955.
She is preceded in death by her father, Thomas Collins and son, Nico Collins-Reeves.
She is survived by her mother, Linda Faye Collins; daughter, Mataia (David) Carter; sisters, Michelle (Les) Collins-Greene, Kathryn (Greg) Collins Novak; brother, Thomas Collins andnumerous Aunties and Uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A memorial service will be held at Waimea Plantation Cottages, Manager’s House, Noon, Sunday June 4, 2017.
