LIHUE — Hurricane season is right around the corner, and Kauai residents have an opportunity to learn how to prepare for natural disasters.
On Thursday, the Princeville chapter of the Community Emergency Response Team will be hosting a forum to discuss how to prepare for and survive a hurricane.
They will also discuss the difference between a watch and a warning.
“We have fantastic professional emergency responders, but they’ll be stretched thin during a disaster,” said Rick Drayton, co-director of Princeville CERT. “It’s up to us as individuals to be prepared, so we can take care of ourselves, our families and our neighbors.”
The forum will be at the Princeville Community Center at 6 p.m.
