ANINI — Kids ages 10 to 12 have a chance to swim with corals, sea cucumbers and even a frogfish this summer on the North Shore with ReefGuardians Hawaii.
The keiki summer ocean education program is split into four sessions throughout June. Each session runs Monday through Thursday, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The first session is set for June 5-9. Students will explore underwater environments and study marine animals and algae.
Kids will also illustrate their discoveries through photography, drawing and painting.
Lessons will be taught with a combination of perspectives based in both science and Hawaiian tradition that encourage values of stewardship, curiosity and wonder, as well as encouraging a lifelong quest for learning.
Cost is $12.50 per day or $50 for the four-day session.
