Many restaurants and resorts are offering Mother’s Day specials. They include:
• Kukui’s on Kalapaki Beach at the Kauai Marriott Resort and Beach Club: Breakfast buffet is 7 to 10 a.m. and a brunch is 11 a.m to 2 p.m. Lunch pool side and oceanfront is 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The dinner special is $40 for adults, $20 for keiki 6 to 12. The brunch menu includes smoked salmon, shrimp cocktail, pesto shrimp, omelettes, chocolate-covered strawberries, truffles and fudge, braised short ribs, chicken Wellington and buttered mash potatoes. • Koloa Landing Resort at Poipu: Brunch is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The menu includes lobster bisque, roasted mushroom salad, yakitori chicken, macadamia nut pancakes, king crab legs, crepe station, Hawaiian-salt-crusted prime rib and smoked bacon. Every mom receives a rose and a chocolate treat. Take a family picture in the Mana Photo Booth or take a picture with Hawaii’s own Chef Sam Choy. Reservations and info: 742-2538.
• Naupaka Terrace, Aqua Beach Resort: Brunch, 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The menu includes prime rib, sushi and omelette stations, banana blueberry pancakes, steamed crab legs, Portugese sausage and bacon, fresh fruit salad, peel and eat shrimp, assorted poke, Porcini-dusted pork loin and baked mahi with lobster and crab essence and a chef’s selection of assorted desserts. • Ilima Terrace, Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa: Buffet is noon to 4 p.m. Menu includes Alaskan king crab, prawn cocktail, spring time grilled asparagus, roasted spring vegetables, assorted nigiri and maki sushi, whole roasted ham, Aunty Lilikoi mustard glaze, Ali‘i Kula lavender and herb-crusted prime rib, lavender creme brulee, chocolate coconut macaroon, smoked salmon benedict and Hawaiian salt grilled New York, Hamakua mushroom demi.
