HANALEI — Mother’s Day at Tahiti Nui will be a family affair, with mom in particular being honored.
“If we can celebrate parents once a year, I’d love to do whatever we can to make them feel special or let their families bring them out and make them feel special,” said Nanea Marston, whose family owns the restaurant and bar more than a half-century old.
On Sunday, moms eat for free at Tahiti Nui. That’s right. Free. So moms, come out and enjoy a visit to this iconic restaurant and bar on the North Shore.
“My grandmother started this place 55 years ago,” Marston said. “We got lots of love and respect for parents. We just want mothers to come and get wined and dined for free, on us so that their families don’t have to pay for it. We’re happy to give that to them.”
Honoring moms has been an annual tradition at Tahiti Nui. Whoever comes through Tahiti Nui’s door is sure to be treated well.
“It’s really just there and available for anyone to come and enjoy the day,” Marston said. “If we can help lessen that burden to let everybody come out and enjoy the day together, then we’ll be stoked.”
